Assam: Flood relief camp organized in Halmaria village of Meteka Gaon Panchayat

SIVASAGAR: Recently, a devastating flood hit the entire riverine village on the bank of the River Dikhow. Sibsagar Commerce College, in association with NSS Unit, Banking Department and WE CARE SCHEME, organized a flood relief camp in the mostly-affected Halmaria village of Meteka Gaon Panchayat on Friday.

More than 100 households were offered a packet of food and grocery items. Principal of the college, Dr Saumar Jyoti Mahanta took part in the camp and promised the villagers to extend all possible help for searching a permanent solution to the problem. The camp was attended by Bijoy Kr Saikia, Dr Prodip Gogoi, Dr Ratul Dutta, Dr. Haren Hazarika and other staff members of the college.
