Assam Floods: Flood affects 30 villages in Sivasagar district

DEMOW: The recent flood has affected 30 villages in the Sivasagar district. According to a flood report, it was stated that 11 villages under Sivasagar Revenue Circle were affected, 16 villages under Demow Revenue Circle and three villages under Amguri Revenue Circle. A total of 12,825 people, 4,085 animals and 110.8 hectares of crop area have been affected.
Under the Demow Revenue Circle, one person named Jugal Taw died on July 2 and an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh was given to his family on July 5. Two families of Sivasagar Revenue Circle have been paid compensation against loss of clothes and utensils at Rs 3,800 per family. Three families of Demow Revenue Circle have been paid compensation against loss of clothes and utensils at Rs 3,800 per family. Four kutcha houses were fully damaged and compensation of Rs 95,100 to each family has been given.
