KAMPUR: Volunteers of the Guwahati Mandali of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) distributed flood relief materials to 2,000 affected families in the various Wards across Kampur Circle, on Wednesday. The recent wave of floods caused immense distress and agony in the affected areas and most of them had to leave their homes and take shelter in makeshift camps and roadside. The wards which were covered were from Ward No 1 to Ward No 10.
This is the third flood relief reach-out this year by the Guwahati YSS team led by Partha Choudhury and assisted by Prabhakar Duwarah and Jonard Kalita. The local volunteers in Kampur along with Dharitri Baruah, Chairman Kampur Circle and Jinu Borah, booth president, Kampur, also coordinated in compiling the list of the affected families and the locations.
Guwahati Mandali also distributed flood relief materials in the affected Kampur area in 2021. This year, on July 7, the Guwahati YSS team distributed flood relief materials to 1200 families across 19 villages in the Raha Sub Division. Also,in June this year, the Tezpur YSS team distributed flood relief materials in the Balipara division near Tezpur, stated a press release.
