Assam Floods: Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu visits flood-hit Barpeta district

BARPETA: State Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu on Thursday visited flood-hit Barpeta district. The minister reviewed the flood situation of Barpeta with the Deputy Commissioner and visited the breached part of Haarijan at Dakshinhati area as almost 25 metres of the embankment has been completely breached. The flood also inundated Barpeta Xatra. The minister discussed with the water resources department about the preventive measures. The minister also admitted that the district administration could not distribute flood relief to the flood-affected people on time.
