Assam Floods: Minister UG Brahma reviews flood situation in Udalguri

TANGLA: State Handloom and Textiles, Sericulture, Soil Conservation and Welfare of Bodoland department Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma on Tuesday held a detailed review meeting with the officials of Udalguri district administration and departments concerned regarding the current flood situation in the district and the relief distribution measures being taken by the district administration, at the Udalguri DC's conference hall.

The meeting was also attended by Udalguri MLA, Gobindo Basumatary. The meeting started with a power-point presentation by the Udalguri district administration highlighting various damages caused by flood and erosion as well as various measures so far taken by the district administration for relief and rehabilitation, erosion protection and repairing of damaged infrastructure.

Minister Brahma directed the departmental officers to conduct proper field assessment before submitting any reports to the government so that the government could take necessary steps for the flood victims and take long-term measures to solve the problem. Brahma urged officials of all departments in the district to act as a team to deal with floods and other natural calamities.
