DIGBOI: On Thursday, in the oil city of Assam, Digboi, Union Minister and MP Rameshwar Teli initiated the construction of several social institutions and MLA Suren Phukan laid the foundation stones. These institutions are funded by the MP Constituency Development Fund and will play a crucial role in improving the welfare of the local community of Digboi. The event also saw the laying of the foundation stones for two model Anganwadi centres, which fall under the purview of the Social Welfare Department. These centres are designed to provide essential early childhood education, nutrition, and healthcare services, benefiting the children and their families in the area.

The foundation stone was laid by the Digboi constituency MLA, Suren Phukan. In the event, the foundation stone of the auditorium of three temples was laid keeping in view enhancing social and cultural activities in the area. The auditorium of No.1 Asomiya Sarvajanin Kalimandir, Makum Chandmari Shiva Temple, and Holonghabi Krishna Mandir were inaugurated. Moreover, the foundation stone of Powai Bongaon Shiva Temple was also laid by the MLA. Along with these institutions, Suren Phukan has also inaugurated the concrete wall of Kath Gaon Primary School Premises and the guard wall of Dhekiajan main road. The foundation stone of Betjan Karma Bhawan Auditorium is also laid by the MLA.

It is worth mentioning that the foundation stone of the office of the Digboi Branch Committee of Assam Tea Tribes Students Union (ATTSU) is also laid to serve as a hub for student activities and the promotion of educational welfare initiatives among the tea tribes. He also laid the foundation stone of two Anganwadi Centres, namely, the no.1 Golai Vidya Mandir Adarsh Anganwadi Centre by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Assam (GoA) and the foundation stone of the Borjan Model Anganwadi Center was also devised.
