Assam: Free Text Books Issued to Class XII Student to 'Continue Education Amidst Covid Pandemic'

Guwahati: Assam flags off the distribution of free textbooks to Class XII students.

Shri Ranog Pegu, Minister of Education, tweeted about the launch of the state government's initiative to distribute free textbooks to Class XII students.

"Free Text Book to Class- XII students flagged off today. We remain committed to continue education amidst Covid pandemic," tweeted Shri Ranoj Pegu. 

Assam education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu said on Tuesday that the decision to hold High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) 2nd year examinations will be made within the next two days. 

"We will take decisions very soon. We have taken the opinions of all the stakeholders. The process of taking opinion has been completed. The decision making process is starting from 4 p.m. today," Pegu said. 

The education minister had claimed that exams would be held whenever the state's COVID-19 situation improved. He said that exams are the only option and would be conducted even if on limited subjects.
