Assam: Gandhi Jayanti observed in Bongaigaon

BONGAIGAON: The Public Health Engineering Department, Bongaigaon, has taken a fortnight-long programme for the celebration of the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa programme’ with effect from September 15 and ending on Gandhi Jayanti. The closing ceremony of “Swachhata Hi Seva fortnight 2023” has been held at Borigaon GP under Tapattary Block, Bongaigaon.

The programme has been graced by the presence of Anjali Kumari and Bitumoni Choudhury, Assistant Commissioners of the Office of the SDO (civil), North Salmara, Abhayapuri, Block Development Officer, Tapattary, Block Project Manager, ASRLM, Tapattary, and many dignitaries from different departments and senior citizens. Different cultural programmes have been conducted during the celebration. Under the Amrit Kalash Yatra of the Meri Maati Mera Desh programme, soil was collected from GP wards, which has been brought to the GP ceremonially.
