SIVASAGAR: The Gargaon College fraternity witnessed the live-streaming event of the landing of Chandrayan 3 on the moon’s surface on August 23.
Principal of Gargaon College, Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta graced the event with his valuable and inspiring words about the significance of the event for India and the World. In his deliberation, Dr Mahanta highlighted that this would be the first ever moon mission on its South pole by any state and said that such strenuous scientific endeavours of ISRO and the Indian space research community have successfully projected India as a ‘Space Superpower’.
The live-streaming session was moderated by Dr Dimbeshwar Das, Secretary, Assam Science Society, Gargaon Branch, in collaboration with IQAC, Gargaon College, and Gargaon College Science Forum. Dr Raktim Patar, Dr Arandao Narzary and Dr Plabon Jyoti Sarmah provided technical assistance in conducting the event. The glorious event was attended by the Vice Principal of Gargaon College, Dr Rina Handique, all the faculty members, office staff and around 280 students. The singing of the national anthem and distribution of sweets and tea among the audience followed the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3.
