In yet another case of rape that has come to light, three men have been arrested for gang raping a 22-year-old from Assam in Tirupur.

As per reports, the victim was raped on the pretext of a job offer by five men who called her to Tiruppur from Coimbatore.

The woman in her complaint has stated that she approached Rajesh Kumar and requested for a job in Tiruppur as she is a single parent and had lost her job due to lockdown.

On Tuesday, Rajesh Kumar picked up the women from Palladam and took her to his residence and introduced her to his brother and family.

Following the meeting which ended in evening, as Rajesh kumar couldn't find her a job immediately he asked his brother Raju to drop her at Palladam to catch the bus back to Coimbatore.

Using this opportunity, Raju along with 4 of his friends, took the woman to a deserted plot and all 5 took turns to rape her.

It has been reported that the gang stole rupees 2000 and a mobile phone from her before dumping her.

Based on the woman's complaint, Tiruppur Police has arrested 3 of them. Tiruppur SP Disha Mittal has said that they have formed 2 SITs to apprehend the other three and carry out further investigation.
