Assam Gorkha Sanmellan organizes Tihar Bidai Samaroh in Udalguri

UDALGURI: The Udalguri district committee of Assam Gorkha Sanmellan (AGS) organized a Tihar Bidai Samaroh at Khusurabari Habi village with a day-long programme on Sunday.

The open session, which was presided over by Nar BahadurNewar, was inaugurated by Ramesh Dahal, the president of AGS, Udalguri district committee. He laid emphasis on cultural preservation in society. GayatriBhattarai, the president of Udalguri district Nepali Sahitya Sabha, Rohit Kumar Dahal, general secretary of BTC region AAGSU, Laxmi Sendai, the general secretary of Assam Gorkha Sanmellan, among other distinguished persons were present on the occasion.

Laxmi Sendai focused on the glaring problems of the Gorkha community people of the region. During the programme, various cultural groups enthralled the audience. The HSLC and HS pass students of the village were also felicitated.
