MANGALDAI: The sleuths of the vigilance and anti-corruption department had carried out an operation against a Mandal at the Mangaldai Revenue Circle office. But after the operation failed to find any proof against the official, he threatened to slap defamation charges against them.

The incident took place in the office of the Mandaldai Revenue Circle. Mandal Naba Nath was investigated in connection with him accepting bribes from the public. They were investigating the official regarding the acceptance of Rs 5000 from a citizen in the name of issuing certain essential documents from the office. The sleuths questioned him regarding the bribery issues at the canteen itself.

They carefully continued to search for the cash or any proof of the same. They also conducted the necessary exams regarding the bribes and questioned the accused. But they failed to recover the cash or any proof of accepting the bribe from Naba Nath.

Following this development, Naba Nath mentioned that he had not accepted any bribe.
