Ahead of the Durga Puja celebration the finance department of the government of
Assam has released Rs 39.49 crore for the employees of the municipal boards across the
state.
Ajanta Neog, finance minister of the state has announced it on Wednesday on his Twitter.
"Good news for the employees of Assam Municipality on the eve of Durga Puja. The Finance Dept has released a total of Rs. 39.49 crore for the employees of 108 municipal boards across Assam. @CMOfficeAssam @mygovassam @AssamFinDept", she wrote.
Earlier, the
government of Assam has reached an agreement with the workers and employees of
Hindustan PaperCorporation to resolve long pending issues of their salaries and
dues. On Tuesday the chief minister of the state Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma held a
4-hour long meeting to resolve the issues of the workers and employees of
Hindustan Paper Corporation. "Finally reached agreement with the workers
and employees of Hindustan Paper Corporation to resolve long pending issues of
their salaries and dues. The discussion lasted over 4 hours in my office and
concluded at 2 AM. Back to home now. Will leave for north Assam tour at 8
AM", CM Sarma wrote on his Twitter.
the liquidator of HPCL (Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd), Kuldeep Verma, issued eviction notices to the employees of Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills yesterday, asking them to vacate their accommodations/quarters within 15 days. The employees of the Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills seem to have lost the ground under their feet. On the other hand, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in New Delhi on Saturday that the package for the HPCL employees was ready, and the employees would have to vacate the quarters to avail of it.
