MANGALDAI: The Assam government is going to observe the 'Anganwadi Day' on the 10th day of every month. Talking to 'The Sentinel' on Wednesday afternoon at Mangaldai immediately after taking part in an official function, Director of Social Welfare department Bivash Modi informed it. "Within a very short period, I am going to issue a circular to observe the 10th day of every month as the 'Anganwadi Day' to mark the significance of the day. The Social welfare department is also planning to arrange some programmes of the department on that day," Director of Social Welfare Bivash Modi said. He also said that the Anganwadi Centres (AWC) with less than ten beneficiaries would be clubbed with similar centres for better community service while AWCs in individual house set up would no more be functioning. Appreciating the Anganwadi Workers, ANMs and the ASHA for their sincere service with dedication and commitment towards the society, he described the Anganwadi Workers, ANMs and ASHA as the three 'A' grass-root stakeholders.
