SIVASAGAR: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria reviewed the progress of implementation of various developmental schemes, besides law & order situation in Sivasagar district on his maiden visit to Sivasagar district on Wednesday.
Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav, ONGC Assam Asset’s Executive Director & Asset Manager Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police Shubhrajyoti Bora, Zilla Parishad CEO Aswini Doley, Additional Deputy Commissioners Bitupan Neog, Karmadev Brahma, Sabyasachi Kashyap and Dr Mandira Baruah, Nazira Sub-Divisional Officer Ayushi Jain, heads of various departments as well as the chief officers of the ONGC and the security forces were present in the meeting held at ONGC’s Conference Hall, Nazira.
The meeting especially discussed schemes being implemented by various departments of the State government and the work being carried out by the ONGC and security related issues with the head of the security forces. In the review meeting, ONGC apprised the Governor of the measures taken so far for the production of oil and gas and the measures taken for social development through a Power Point presentation. He was also briefed about the measures taken by the security forces to curb terrorism. In addition, the Governor was briefed about the development works being implemented by various departments including PHE, Agriculture, Health, Fisheries, Social Welfare, Rural Development, PWD, etc. in the district through PPT mode.
Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav, ONGC’s Asset Manager Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police Shubhrajyoti Bora, Zilla Parishad CEO Ashkini Dal were present in the meeting. The Governor, who was on a two-day visit to Sivasagar with his wife, arrived at the historic Shiva Dol in Sivasagar on Wednesday morning.
The Governor, overwhelmed by worshipping at Shiva Dol, then visited the historic Rang Ghar, Talatal Ghar and Kareng Ghar. He was accompanied by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav, Superintendent of Police Subhrajyoti Bora and several administrative officers of the district.
