GUWAHATI: The Assam state government in a cabinet meeting appointed guardian ministers for all the districts to implement government policy decisions, administrative reforms, and other welfare schemes.

1. The Panchayat & Rural Development Minister and state BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Das will be guardian minister for 3 district, have been given the responsibility of Barpeta, Bongaigaon, and Dhubri districts.

2. Agriculture Minister Atul Bora will be the guardian minister of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia while Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma has been allotted the responsibility of Baksa and Chirang districts.

3. Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika will be the guardian minister for Nagaon, Sonitpur, and Bishwanath districts.

4. Transport, Industries, and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary will be Guardian Ministers of Darrang, Kamrup (R), and Kamrup (M) districts.

5. Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya will be the guardian minister of Karimganj, Hailakandi, and Hojai. Health & Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta has been given the responsibility of the Golaghat and Morigaon districts.

Key Decision Taken in Assam Cabinet Meeting

Meanwhile, several other key decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

>> The fund disbursement process of the Kushal Konwar Briddha Pension Scheme and the Indira Miri Widow Pension Scheme shall be simplified.

>> Funds shall be released to 13 lakh beneficiaries of Kushal Konwar Briddha Pension Scheme, 1,60,000 beneficiaries of Deen Dayal Divyang Yojana & 1,70,000 beneficiaries of Indira Miri Widow Pension Scheme on the 10th of every month.

>> Bodoland Welfare Department and Bodoland Administrative Staff College shall be created to enhance the administrative capacity of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
