GUWAHATI: A government school teacher was placed under suspension for violating the government rules and regulations in Nalbari District on July 5.

According to reports, the teacher identified as Rajen Chandra Deka, working as an assistant teacher in Lawpara High School was suspended on the grounds of being part of a media outlet as a reporter.

According to the notice by school inspector Rajen Chandra Deka has been suspended with immediate effect for being involved in a profit-making business although being a government employee.

Meanwhile, the Headmaster of Lawpara High School allegedly that the suspended teacher has been working as a reporter in an Assamese Daily newspaper " Dainik Asom".

The official added that, as per rule, during the suspension period he is entitled to draw his subsistence allowance.
