Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa sarma on Thursday said that 12,000 recruitment will be completed on September 22 taking the total recruitment to 42,000.

The decision for the same was taken during a meeting chaired by Sarma where senior officials were also present.

''In our concerted push to complete one lakh jobs at the earliest, glad to share that today we've decided to complete recruitment for 12,000 posts on Sept 22, 2022. Having completed 30,000 recruitments in May, this will take total recruitments so far to 42,000.

In this regard, the government will hold an official ceremony which will be held at the Veterinary College Playground at Khanapara where this recruitment will be completed.

The 12,000 job aspirants, who have been selected for appointments through various examinations would be formally appointed in various government services.

Earlier in May this year, the BJP-led Assam government's promise to provide 1 lakh jobs to the youths, the Assam CM had given appointment letters to 23,000 youths in 11 departments of the state.

Sarma handed over the appointment letters to 23,000 who will be recruited in the home, health, education, social welfare, water resource and Environment and Forest department among others.

The Chief Minister made the announcement regarding Assam government job recruitment on his official social media handles.

"We have already embarked on fulfilling our promise of providing one Lakh jobs in Govt. Recruitment processes for various posts are in different stages. To begin with, we will distribute 23000 appointment letters to the Home, Health and Education Departments on 14 May 22," he tweeted.

Earlier, the government promised to provide jobs during the presentation of the Assam Budget for the year 2022-23.
