Guwahati: In view of the unavoidable circumstances in the state, the state government has cancelled the Assam Grade IV written examination.

In this regard, the Health Department of Assam has released a notification, wherein, it mentioned that due to the bad condition of various districts of Assam due to heavy rain and flood.

''In reference to the notice No.Jannsanyog/D/5125/22. Dated: 10/06/2022. this is for information of all concerned that, due to unavoidable circumstances, the written examination for recruitment of various Grade-IV posts under different Directortes of Health & Family Welfare Department and Medical Education & Rescarch Department, Govemment of Assam, which was scheduled to be held on 19/06/2022 is postponed. The written examination will now he held on 03/07/2022 from 11 A.M. 10 12.30 P.M,'' the notification read.

The candidates. are directed to regularly visit the official website http://dme.assam.gov.in. http://dhs.assam.gov.in. hitp://ditsfw.assam.gov.in and hitp://ayush.assam.gov.in for any updates.

It is to be mentioned that more than 11.09 lakh people have been affected across 25 districts of the state. As many as four people have lost their lives in Assam in the last 24 hours owing to the massive floods.

The water level of the Manas, Pagladiya, Puthimari, Kopili, Gaurang, and Brahmaputra rivers are flowing above the danger level mark in many places in Assam.

As per the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 1510 villages under 72 revenue circles are currently submerged in water along with 19782.80 hectares of cropland.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted that the northeastern region will continue to receive heavy rainfall till June 17 and also issued a red alert for the state of Assam and Meghalaya.
