HALFLONG: Haflong Sub Jail is once again in the midst of controversy surrounding the death of an inmate in the wee hours on Thursday. The mysterious death of Raju Paul, a resident of Maibang Subhash Nagar, has created a sensation in the sub-divisional headquarters of Maibang.

According to the complaint, 52-year-old Raju Paul of Maibang, accused in the NDPS case, was sent to Haflong Sub Jail on the orders of the district court about two and a half months ago. On Wednesday afternoon, the wife had a conversation with her husband Raju Paul. Raju was completely healthy. But at 7 am on Thursday, the Haflong Jail authorities informed the family that Raju Paul has died. Immediately the wife, mother and relatives of the deceased Raju rushed to Haflong from Maibang. Raju’s wife demanded investigation into his untimely death. A truck driver named Raju from Uttar Pradesh also died in a similar manner on December 21, 2022 in Haflong Sub Jail.
