ASSAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather advisory cautioning inhabitants of several districts in Assam to expect thunder accompanied by lightning. To add on to this warning, there is also potential for hailstorms in these regions that will occur starting from January 17th onwards. The Regional Meteorological Centre located in Guwahati has taken responsibility by listing ten specific districts that are bound to face severe conditions; among them being Morigaon, Nagaon,Sonitpur,Biswanath,Lakhimpur,Sivasagar,Dhemaji ,Charaideo,Dibrugarh and Tinsukia .
According to the meteorological forecast, people living in these areas should be careful and make preparations to reduce potential hazards caused by hailstorms. Hailstorms can harm crops, houses and endanger individuals outside.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted that various areas within the state will encounter adverse weather conditions apart from receiving an alert about impending hailstorms. Thick fog is anticipated to persist during morning hours on January 16, and this could pose a challenge for several districts. Travelers and drivers are urged to exercise caution as reduced visibility may have significant consequences on road safety in these regions.
The weather situation is currently being closely monitored by authorities, who are recommending that residents stay informed about any official announcements. Farmers must take preventative measures to safeguard their crops against potential damage from hailstorms; this is of particular importance.
