JORHAT: State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Sunday visited the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

After inspecting the progress of works of the Cancer Hospital at the JMCH, Mahanta stated that the work would be completed by April 15.

He also announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the Cancer Hospital on April 28.

Mahanta said that the Cancer Hospital would be well equipped for treatment of cancer patients.

The State Government had announced during the term of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal that 19 cancer care centres would be set up across the State in partnership with Tata Trust with an investment of Rs 1,910 crore.

The JMCH was the fourth medical college in Assam and was established in October, 2009.
