KOKRAJHAR: A horrifying incident unfolded in the Kokrajhar district of Assam on Sunday night, as unidentified miscreants stabbed an Assam Home Guard jawan to death in the Santinagar locality. The victim, identified as Basudev Kisku, hailed from Gurubhasha Ravanghat village in Chirang district.

The victim Basudev Kisku, who was deputed at the Bengtal police station in Chirang, had visited his hometown to participate in a football tournament. However, during the evening, he received a call from an unidentified individual, requesting he meet at Dablegaon of Amguri in Kokrajhar.

Tragically, hours later, Basudev's lifeless body was discovered on the roadside, bearing severe injury marks. The family members of the deceased have expressed their belief that this was a pre-planned murder, adding to the anguish and sorrow surrounding the incident. The untimely demise of Basudev Kisku has sent shockwaves through the community, and local authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the brutal attack to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the heinous crime.

In response to the disturbing incident, the All Adivasi Students' Association (AASA) of Assam has issued a stern warning, threatening to stage a democratic protest if the culprits are not apprehended immediately.
