Assam: Human Rights and Social Activist Appeals for Better Medical Facilities

Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia held discussions on whether civil hospitals across Assam have ample facilities to treat snake bites and heart diseases.

BISWANATH: National-level human rights and social activist Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia visited the Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital at Biswanath Chariali of Assam. He also held a meeting with the Superintendent of the Sub-divisional Hospital, Jonali Gogoi.

Dr Dibyajyoti Saikia, during his visit, held discussions on two important issues whether civil hospitals across Assam have ample facilities to treat snake bites and heart diseases. He said that the lack of doctors has deprived people of their basic and human rights

The human and social activist has, thereafter appealed to the Chief Minister of the state to immediately complete all the unfinished works required to provide treatment for snake bites and heart diseases to the general public.

Over the past few years, the medical services in Assam have undergone significant development, aimed at providing better healthcare facilities and services to the people of the state. The government of Assam has launched several initiatives and programs to improve the existing healthcare infrastructure and increase access to quality medical services.
