GUWAHATI: IAS Officer Pabitra Khaund has been appointed as the Principal Secretary-cum-CEO of Assam's Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). According to an official announcement dated June 13 from the Government of Assam's Department of Personnel, IAS Pabitra Ram Khaund has been transferred and placed as Principal Secretary-cum-Chief Executive Officer of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in Assam's Kokrajhar.
According to the official notification, “In the interest of public service, Shri Pabitra Ram Khaund. IAS (SCS 2010) Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Irrigation Department, Department of Housing and Urban Affairs (addl) and State Prabhari Officer (Udalguri) is transferred and posted as Principal Secretary-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Bodoland Territorial Region, Kokrajhar.”
Meanwhile, two additional government employees had their jobs changed, according to a June 12 directive from the Personnel Department.
IAS Indira Kalita was relieved of her additional job as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department and Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary.
According to an official statement, 11 state government workers in Assam were promoted to the Indian Administrative Service to fill vacancies designated by the Government of India. According to the June 13 directive, 11 ACS officials from the state were promoted to the rank of IAS to fill vacancies.

Furthermore, IAS Javir Rahul Suresh was transferred from his previous position as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, General Administration Department to the Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, as well as Director in-charge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Assam, and Director, Dairy Development, Assam, according to the notification.
