DOOMDOOMA: Under the aegis of the Department of History, Doomdooma College and Doomdooma Girls’ HS School, a one-day outreach programme was jointly organized on the topic ‘Importance of History in the school curriculum and choosing Unconventional Career Pathways’, in the auditorium of Doomdooma Girls’ HS School recently.

Principal of the school, Sangeeta Barkakati welcomed the gathering. Associate Professor Manimala Bora, Head of the Department of History of the college, spoke on the need to study history. After her, Associate Professor of History Department, Madhuryya Mahanta spoke on the need for social history while Assistant Professor Dr Padmakshi Kakati spoke on how to get employment in various fields by taking history as a subject.

Teacher Aman Tati spoke about the importance of the history subject. The programme was conducted by Assistant Professor Dwijen Sarmah who analyzed the past, present and future of history. The event was graced by the performance of a song by Garima Bharali, Kakli Kalita and Subasita Dutta.
