Assam: International Day of Non-Violence observed in Bilasipara

BILASIPARA: Under the joint aegis of Bilasipara civil administration and the Bilasipara Municipality, the International Day of Non-Violence was observed at Bilasipara on Monday. In this connection, Monuranjan Payeng, ADC, cum i/c SDO(Civil) Bilasipara garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi while Manalisa Das, chairperson, Bilasipara Municipality offered floral tribute. A procession was taken out from Gandhi Chowk to Bilasipara Municipality. After the procession, a public meeting was held in the auditorium of Bilasipara Municipality. The meeting was addressed by Monuranjan Payeng, ADC, Paritosh Ghose, Sheikh Hedayetullah, retired principal of Chapar Ratnapith College and Dayal Paul. The whole programme was anchored by Ziyaur Rhaman, Assistant Commissioner.
