Assam: JE Prabhat Kalita, computer assistant Suraj Bora arrested

NAGAON: A team from Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Guwahati arrested one JE and a computer assistant identified as Prabhat Kalita and Suraj Bora from the office of Lumding Development Block at Udali, Lanka on Wednesday evening. They were caught red handed while accepting bribe from a complainant.

Sources claimed that the arrested JE Prabhat Kalita demanded bribe from a complainant for releasing payment against a project through the computer assistant of the office.

Unwilling to pay the demanded amount, the complainant approached the office of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Guwahati and lodged a complaint in this regard following which the officials from the Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Guwahati laid a trap and finally got the breakthrough. They were brought to Guwahati for further proceedings of lawful action after prolonged interrogation.
