Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda will be on a visit to Assam and Tripura on August 29.
He will also inaugurate the BJP North East Office building in Guwahati.
"BJP National President JP Nadda will visit Assam and Tripura on August 29. He will inaugurate the BJP North East Office building in Guwahati on the same day," the state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita said.
As per reports, Nadda will also hold a meeting with the party officials in Agartala to decide the strategy regarding the Tripura assembly elections, which are scheduled to be held next year.
A few days back, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met Nadda in New Delhi where he briefed him about the current political scenario and organizational activities of the state.
Besides this, a crucial meeting of the BJP took place in Guwahati where key issues of the party were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, his Tripura counterpart Manik Saha, BJP national vice president Baijayant Jay Panda and other senior BJP leaders.
Meanwhile, in UP BJP has got a new state president as Panchayati Raj Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary has been declared the new state president of the saffron party in the state.
Chaudhary was called to Delhi by the party's high command and met BJP National President JP Nadda.
Chaudhary is known as a Jat leader and he has a stronghold in the Jat community and in western UP. It is worth mentioning that without the support of Chaudhary, the BJP may not have achieved the expected success in Purvanchal, following the farmers' agitation in western UP.
Chaudhary was also rewarded for this victory as he was made a minister in the Yogi-led Uttar Pradesh government.
He has also worked in the organization for a long time past as well and also took the responsibility of the regional president.
