GUWAHATI: Amid the ongoing preparations of the students for HS and HSLC exams, the Kaliabor sub-division administration has taken a decision of restricting loudspeakers.

The step of restricting loud sounds and DJs in the area was made so that students can peacefully concentrate on their studies.

On Monday 14 March, the Kaliabor sub-division in Nagaon district of Assam has clamped prohibitory order under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

The authorities have strictly restricted the sounds from loudspeakers in the region without necessary and required permission from the administration beforehand.

The decision was taken in concern of the students getting ready to appear in the upcoming Higher Secondary and HSLC examination to be held across the state from Tuesday 15 March.

The Kaliabor subdivision through this initiative has attempted to help the students in exam preparations without any disturbances of loud music or sounds that can distract them from their studies.

The HSLC and AHM exams this year are scheduled to end on 31 March and the HS exam will conclude on 12 April 2022. The prohibitory order around Kaliabor won't allow anyone in the area to play any loudspeaker within this time i.e. up to the end of exams.

Meanwhile, students across the state have been busy preparing for the exams which will be conducted physically this time after a long gap of online classes and online examinations due to the global covid pandemic.

Earlier, the Secondary Education Board of Assam announced that the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) this time will be held with the previous year's question paper and answer sheets.

AHSEC informed that a total of 2,15,022 candidates will be appearing in the Higher Secondary examination across 796 exam centres.
