Guwahati: After massive destruction caused by the annual floods in Assam, the Kaziranga National park is planning various measures for the safety of wildlife.

As per reports, the park Director P Shivkumar informed that floodwater damaged infrastructure this year to the tune of 5 crore rupees.

The Director of the World Heritage Site stated that a 32-kilometer long highway cum highland is to be constructed. He further said that the construction work is to be started in the winter period.

He further added that animal sensors shall be installed at 6 more locations along the national highway between Kaliabor-Bokakhat for the safety of the animals. It would help in detecting high-speed vehicles and would also provide access to animal movements.

Mr. Shivkumar mentioned that if everything goes as per plan, the park will be opened for visitors in October.
