Assam Khel Maharan held across state

MORIGAON: The second day of the Assam Khel Maharan 2023-24 was held in 13 Gaon Panchayats of Morigaon district. The competition was held at Bhuragaon, Pavkati and Bardowatop Gaon Panchayats under Lahrighat Development Zone and Chabukdhara and Paghali Gaon Panchayats under Dalanghat Development Zone of the district. The games were also held in South Dharamtul, North Dharamtul, Shilchang, Neli, Jagibhakatgaon, Baghjap, Paliguri and Dongabari Gaon Panchayats of Mayong Development Zone.

GOLAGHAT: The Khela Maharan programme was inaugurated on Thursday across Assam as well as in Golaghat district. Today the programme of sports began in the playgrounds designed to play inside 71 Gram Panchayats and 3 Municipal Areas of the Golaghat district.

As part of this sports programme, MLA of Sarupathar constituency Biswajit Phukan inaugurated the volleyball competition under Barpathar Municipality. On the other hand, MLA of Dergaon constituency Bhavendranath Bharali inaugurated the Kabaddi competition under Dergaon Municipality.

Today the sports competitions were held at village panchayat level and within municipalities under eight development blocks of Golaghat district. Chairman of Golaghat Zilla Parishad, officials of Golaghat district administration, municipalities, block development officers as well as educationists and many dignitaries of Golaghat were present in the sports programme. It is to be noted that competitions at panchayat/municipal level will be held till November 15.
