Assam : Killer Books Uber Cab To Dispose Dead Body, Gets Nabbed

GUWAHATI : A staggering incident took place in Guwahati, where a man transported a dead body in an Uber cab. The episode took place on the 29th of December, 2022. 

The Uber driver informed that the corpse was discarded in the outskirts, near Kamalpur area. Furthermore, the driver stated that he was threatened by the miscreant with extreme repercussions if he reveals anything in front of the police. 

As per the driver's statement, the criminal booked the cab from Guwahati's Rukminigaon area. He stuffed the car's trunk with some unusual and awkward looking baggage. The driver has been identified as Khagen Das, a resident of Assam's Nalbari district. 

Coincidentally, it has come to light that both the accused and the driver hailed from the same region. According to the reports, the deceased's title has been identified as Bhuyan, a resident of Pathsala. The miscreant intended to dump the body in Musalpur, initially. 

Later, he asked the driver to drive towards Kamalpur area where he disposed the corpse in the bushes. The accused has been identified as Hitesh Das. The driver, Khagen, out of curiosity asked the accused all about the baggage. 

Shockingly, Hitesh Das confessed and told the driver that, he had killed one of his friends by hammering him and he dumped his body in the bush. The driver drove him back to Guwahati's Beltola area. The accused had parked his bike in that particular place. 

As soon as the cab got emptied, the driver rushed to Dispur police station and informed everything about the incident. Based on the information, police tracked the criminal and apprehended him. After getting caught Hitesh Das, the accused, confessed to his actions in front of the police. 

Information gleaned during the investigation revealed that the deceased and the accused were friends since 12 years, and deceased was a dish TV mechanic.

Further investigation is on regarding the matter.
