SILCHAR: The State government was working sincerely to reopen the two tea gardens of the Barak Valley which had been non functional for years, stated Sanjay Kishan, Assam’s Labour Welfare Minister here on Friday. Kishan ceremonially launched the e-Nidhi app under Assam Tea Employees Provident Fund Organisation here. He elaborated how this app would help the tea garden labourers to get access to all the Info about their provident fund and salary status. Kishan said, both the Union and the State governments had taken up various department projects for the betterment of the gardens and the labourers in particular, and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had prioritized the speedy implementation of these. The difference of wages of the tea garden labourers in Brahmaputra and Barak Valley would be minimized very shortly, Kishan added. MLA Teros Goala, Assam Tea Corporation chairman Rajdeep Goala, MLA Mihir Kanti Shome also spoke at the occasion.
