Assam: Lakhimpur Girls’ college to celebrate Golden Jubilee

LAKHIMPUR: The Golden Jubilee celebration of Lakhimpur Girls’ College, the first institute for women’s higher education in the region, will be held from February 3 to February 5. This was stated by Jiten Sarma, President, Dr. Surajit Bhuyan, Principal and Secretary, and Mahendra Gogoi and Shiva Prasad Sarma, Joint Secretary of the Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee of the college, in a public statement on Sunday.

The golden jubilee celebration committee said that the three-day event would be held at the premises of Lakhimpur Girls College, North Lakhimpur, with a series of colourful programmes. The statement appealed to the alumni and general public to participate in the golden jubilee celebrations and extend all types of assistance.

A meeting of the Alumni Association of Lakhimpur Girls’ College was held today in the college for that occasion. The meeting informed us that the preparations for the cultural programmes for the golden jubilee would start on Monday.
