Assam: Lat Mandal arrested in Demow

DEMOW: A Lat Mandal of Demow Revenue Circle of Sivasagar district was apprehended by a team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Assam from Sukanpukhuri near Demow on Wednesday. Purnima Gogoi, a Lat Mandal of Demow Revenue Circle had demanded a bribe of Rs.1800 from a farmer named Nripen Chetia for processing land patta. According to sources, a trap was laid by a team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam in front of Sukanpukhuri Panchayat Office on Wednesday and then Purnima Gogoi, a Lat Mandal of Demow Revenue Circle was caught red handed while she was accepting the bribe. Later she was quizzed by the team.
