GUWAHATI : A massive fire broke out at Tezpur on Thursday night at around 11pm. Precisely nine shops were gutted down in the unfortunate episode. The incident took place in Mission Chariali area of Assam's Sonitpur district.
As per the sources, possessions of approximately Rs 50 lakhs got destroyed in the ablaze. Although reason behind the sudden fire has not been identified yet, but people suspected it to be due to short circuit. Nobody was injured or lost their lives in the occurrence.
Prior to this incident, on Wednesday, a scary fire broke out in Assam's Marwari Patty Thakurbari area in Jorhat. The inferno was reported at around 10pm. The fire went ugly after cylinders blasted one after the other.
As per the reports, a three storeyed building turned into ashes which was located just behind the business establishment, from where the fire erupted. The episode destroyed properties in lakhs including eight residential places. Multiple fire tenders rushed to the place and tried to prevent any sort of extreme scenario.
However, no casualties or injuries were reported in the case. In past few months, several cases of inferno has been reported in Guwahati as well. On December 2022, a major fire broke out in Fatasil Ambari area of Guwahati. As per sources from the locals, several houses and goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the episode.
The cause of the eruption is suspected to be due to explosion of many LPGs one after another. According to the police, no major injury or deaths has been reported in the unfortunate occurrence. As per a report, approximately 3,231 fire cases has been reported in 2022.
Properties worth crores of rupees were gutted in the eruptions. Along with losing houses and properties, few casualties were also reported in few of the incidents.
