DIGBOI: The renowned Matri Sangha Kali Puja Samiti is celebrating its golden jubilee this year and to mark the occasion, they have organised this year’s Kali Puja in a very festive manner.

The Matri Sangha Kali Puja Samiti was established in the year 1974 and it has stepped into its 50th year in 2023. Expert artists were called in from Kolkata in West Bengal to decorate the festive grounds of this celebration.

The organisers have mentioned that this year’s celebrations will be carried out with a four-day-long schedule. On the first day of the celebrations, the District Commissioner of Tinsukia, Swapneel Paul inaugurated the main stages for the celebration. He also gave his best wishes to the organisers and the devotees on the occasion of the celebration.

It can be noted that the puja mandap has been decorated only with eco-friendly materials in order to reduce any possible pollution because of the same. Even the District Commissioner applauded the efforts of the puja samiti towards reducing environmental impact during his inaugural speech.

It can be mentioned that a Golden Jubilee commemorative magazine was also unveiled during the celebration. Apart from these, a cultural show was also organised showcasing several music and dance presentations.

Organising committee president Kamalesh Chakroborty also gave a short speech during the inaugural event, while Dipendu Dutta and Gurubandhu Chakroborty ensured the smooth conduct of the same.

The Morigaon Sewa Ashram is also organising the silver jubilee year of the Kali Puja in 2023. On the completion of 25 years, the Morigaon Anchalik Sri Sri Kali Puja Udjapan Committee of the Morigaon Sewa Ashram today celebrated the Kali Puja with various programmes. The day began with the hoisting of the ‘Dhwaja’ by the president of the Morigaon Sri Sri Kali Puja Udjapan Committee, Ujjal Barthakur, in the presence of the secretary of the Morigaon Anchalik Sri Sri Kali Puja Udjapan Committee, Sankar Prasad Sarma, and the members of the Sewa Ashram Committee. It was followed by the smriti tarpan by Bipin Ch. Mahanta, president, Morigaon Anchalik Sri Sri Durga Puja Udjapan Committee.
