DIBRUGARH: A meeting was convened in the conference hall of Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner office regarding review of Aadhaar enrolment in the district. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam Paban Kumar Borthakur and Dibrugarh DC Bikram Kairi, ADCs, Assistant Commissioners, president of Gaon Panchayats,VDPs, officers and employees of concerned departments, all important stakeholders attended the meeting.
The review meeting was basically conducted regarding the pending performance of Aadhaar enrolment at Dibrugarh district and when the Chief Secretary enquired about it, the concerned officers reported that because of non issue of birth certificates, mismatch of names in the produced documents like ration card or pan card of parents etc.by the attendant, lack of operators, machinery defect of the biometric machines,lack of men -power etc. has resulted in the pending performance of Aadhaar enrolment in Dibrugarh district. The Chief Secretary advised that the administration should put forward its best efforts with all the requirements to fulfil the enrolment process. One of the stakeholders reported that lack of awareness, unable to produce necessary documents, etc are some of the reasons on the pending process.
