Assam: Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah Lays Foundations for Multiple Projects

He laid the foundation for the office building for the Public Health Department along with ten other projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

HATSINGIMARI: Assam Minister for Public Health Engineering, Jayanta Mallabaruah visited the South Salmara-Mankachar district of the state on Wednesday to take stock of the work done under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah visited the Public Health Department office of the South Salmara Mankachar at about 11 AM on Wednesday. During this visit, he laid the foundation for the office building for the Public Health Department along with ten other projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

After that, the minister moved to the Kharuabandha Janata Higher Secondary School playground and addressed a public gathering. Speaking in this meeting, he announced that 12000 names of beneficiaries who have been accepted by the state government for the Orunodoi Scheme of the Government of Assam. He also announced that these beneficiaries will be receiving funds under the scheme from next month onwards.

Several other dignitaries including Mankachar MLA Aminul Islam, former MLA Javed Islam, District Commissioner Rahul Kumar Gupta and several other people attended this event.

Guardian minister of Dhubri, Jayanta Mallabaruah also distributed Orunodoi 2.0 scheme cards at a function held here at Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Field recently. While addressing the beneficiaries, Baruah said that the financial assistance of Rs 1,250 per month would be paid directly into the bank account of each beneficiary from next month. He also assured that the funds of this scheme would be increased in the future and efforts would be made to include new beneficiaries in the scheme. The scheme covers all the disadvantaged classes, irrespective of caste, religion and race. The scheme is being implemented by the Dhubri District Commissioner, Dibakar Nath.

A total of 18,648 beneficiaries have been covered under Orunodoi 2.0 in the Dhubri district. These include 4,141 beneficiaries from the Dhubri Assembly constituency, 3,327 beneficiaries from the Gauripur Assembly constituency, 3,569 beneficiaries from the Golakganj Assembly constituency, 3,839 beneficiaries from the Bilasipara West and East constituencies and 3,772 beneficiaries respectively.
