Assam: Minor Girl Gang-Raped And Filmed In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: In a sensational incident in Assam's Guwahati city, a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and gang-raped by a group of men.

The shocking incident took place on Thursday 10 March in the Garigaon region located near the Jalukbari location of Guwahati.

According to reports a team of five men sexually assaulted the minor girl and gang-raped her.

The accused even filmed the victim by making videos of the entire incident.

Meanwhile, a case has been filed against all 5 accused at the AWPS (All Women Police Station) located in the Panbazar area of Guwahati. The incident has resulted in sensations in the locality.

The victim girl is sent for a necessary medical test as part of the investigation.

The officials awaited the medical reports of the girl will start taking action after the required test results.

Police informed that the group of men committing the heinous crime is currently on run and hiding themselves to escape from police.

It may be mentioned that such crimes against women and sexual harassment cases have been rapidly increasing in Guwahati and in other parts of the state.

Assam Police has been continuously nabbing the accused and taking action in such cases and the court is awarding criminals with years of imprisonment but the crime against women doesn't seem to get reduced.

Earlier in a similar incident that took place recently, a minor girl was brutally raped by a father of 3 daughters in Margherita town of Assam.

The accused man has been identified as Ajgar Ali, a resident of Margherita. It was reported that the accused had forced the minor girl into his car and took her in a garage where he raped her.

According to the statement by the bother of the minor girl, the accused was in a drunken state when the incident took place on January 2022. As per reports after committing the crime, Ali left the girl and escaped from the spot immediately.

On 22 February this year, the POSCO court in Jagiroad of Assam had sentenced a 23-year-old man to 20 years of continuous jail for raping his own sister several times.
