BISWANATH CHARIALI: Sensation prevailed when in broad daylight, miscreants broke the glass of a car and took away about Rs 20 lakh at Biswanath Chariali on Thursday noon.

According to information, at around 12-30 pm, the manager and three employees of Dhuli Tea Estate parked their car bearing number AS04 U 3091 in front of Vishnu Priya Bazaar on Pavhai Road in Biswanath Chariali town and went for tea at a nearby tea stall. At that time, the glass of the car was broken and the miscreants took away about Rs 20 lakh kept in a bag inside the car. The manager and three employees of the tea estate had withdrawn the money from the bank and were taking it to the garden.

When they returned after drinking tea, they found that there was no bag in the car. Getting information, police rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
