NAGAON: As a part of the upcoming national level intensive Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 immunization programme, a City Task Force Immunization (CTFI) meeting for Nagaon Urban was held on Friday at the conference hall of the Bhugeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital, Nagaon under the chairmanship of Superintendent of BP Civil Hospital Dr Lakhidhar Das in which chairperson of Nagaon Municipal Board Ambika Mazumdar, District Immunization Officer Nagaon Dr Mukut Chandra Deka and Senior Medical and Health Officer Nagaon Urban Dr Moon Hazarika were present.

At the very beginning, Dr Moon Hazarika delivered the welcome address and gave a brief note about the preparations, plans and objectives of IMI 5.0 in respect of Nagaon Urban area. Dr Hazarika emphasized on selecting the right beneficiaries, areas, dropouts and missed out children under the immunization process and informed the gathering that the Head Count Survey for beneficiary detection has already started across the district along with its monitoring and validation. The meeting was informed that the first round of immunization under Mission Indradhanush will commence from August 7 and will continue till August 12 followed by the second round from September 11 to September 16 and third round from October 9 to October 14 to cover missed or left-out children aged 0 to 5 years for their age-specific vaccines and pregnant women for immunization.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Immunization Officer Dr Mukut Chandra Deka emphasized on the cooperation and support from the local bodies and administration in successfully implementing the IMI 5.0 programme and doing the needful for beneficiary registering on U-WIN portal. Nagaon Municipal Board Chairperson, Ambika Mazumdar assured the gathering of providing the necessary help and cooperation and especially involving Ward Commissioners in sensitizing and helping out in the IMI 5.0 programme. Among others the meeting was attended by District Information and Public Relations Officer, Nagaon, Project Officer from Social Welfare Department and other concerned officials of health department and other line departments.

It may be mentioned here that earlier on July 14 to strengthen the routine vaccination process and expand immunization to cover all children in Nagaon district, the District Task Force on Intensive Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 Programme had a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah at the conference hall of DC Office, an official release stated.
