GUWAHATI: An episode came to light on Wednesday, where an MLA of Assam Assembly has been put allegations upon kidnapping and molesting a girl from Assam's Barpeta district. The MLA has been identified as Ashraful Hussain. 

The victim has lodged an FIR regarding the matter, claiming that an individual named Ritul Hussain along with some other men kidnapped her from Barpeta. The case has been reported in Dispur police station. According to the girl, Ritul is an assistant of Ashraful Hussain.

Further, the girl alleged that she was forcefully taken to the MLA hostel located in the Assam Secretariat. She informed the concerned department that, she was tortured mentally and physically for several days inside Ashraful Hussain's quarter. Along with that, the girl asserted that she was forced to agree and sign a marriage contract.

Following this, the girl victim from Barpeta appealed Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to look into the matter and arrest the culprits. Meanwhile, Guwahati police has already began the investigation process to extract evidence in connection with the matter. On the other hand, Ashraful, who is MLA of Assam's Chenga constituency denied all allegations put against him.

He appealed for stern actions against those who are trying to harm his reputation by bringing up falsely accusations against him. Ashraful expressed complete faith in his people, and claimed that he will report a defamation case against the family who tried defame him. ''I'm ready for the punishment if I'm found guilty'', the MLA stated.

According to him, the entire story revolves around a love angle between a girl and boy. Ashraful admits his friendship with Ritul Hussain, however, denied involved of any sort related with the case.
