In a bid to ensure smooth conduct of recruitment exams, the state government during a meeting on August 17, chaired by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma decided to suspend mobile internet in districts having centres for the exams.
"Suspended the mobile internet service for at least three hours during the examinations on respective days," Sarma said during a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and stakeholders.

Interestingly, similar messages were sent by other operators to their customers across the state.
About 14 lakh candidates are expected to appear in the exams which will be held on August 21, 28 and September 11 in 25 districts.
