Assam: More than 15 kg hemp seized by Itakhola police

JAMUGURIHAT: Acting on a tip off, a team of Itakhola police headed by Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia, officer in-charge of Itakhola PS, managed to recover 15 kg 335 grams of hemp from the possession of a couple from Itakhola area from a Tempo bearing registration number AS 12 BC 9507 this morning.

The apprehended couple was identified as Sanjiv Goyari and Bina Goyari who originally hailed from Baitani village of the Udalguri district. According to information, following secret information, the Itakhola police team had recovered four bags of hemp from a tempo. The police source revealed that the couple had brought the hemp to sell some hemp dealer to sell in Arunachal Pradesh. Police investigation is on.
