The Honda City's driver has also been detained by police. His identity has not yet been made public. The smuggled items are believed to be worth Rs 20 crore as per the international market.

Before this, on March 4, a crew from the Bongaigaon Railway Police stopped the Brahmaputra Mail, which was travelling to Delhi, and confiscated a shipment of cocaine worth around Rs 1.72 crore.

A team of Bongaigaon Railway Police stormed the train as it was coming to a stop at the station using information from Gajraj Intelligence, and they were successful in removing a bag containing drugs from the public compartment.

During the search operation, a bag containing 170 grammes of suspected heroin and 8000 Yaba tablets was found in the train's general compartment.
