JORHAT:The inaugural ceremony of the annual training camp of National Cadet Corps (NCC) was held at Assam Women’s University on Tuesday.

The training camp has been organized by 51 Assam Air Tech Sqn in association with Assam Women’s University, Jorhat. The training will continue for the next 10 days. Registrar of Assam Women’s University, Tapan Kumar Gohain delivered the welcome speech in the function. Professor Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar, Vice Chancellor of Assam Women’s University, welcomed the NCC cadets coming from different states to participate in the training. She also talked about the importance of the training camps among the students.

“NCC has been introduced as a subject at Assam Women’s University from this session in consonance with the guidelines of New Education Policy, 2020,” she added.

Brigadier Ritesh Bhal, Group Commander, Indian Army was the guest of honour of the inaugural programme. Addressing the participants, he encouraged them to serve the community through these camps along with their personal development. He also discussed about the privileges of the NCC cadets and other necessary aspects related to the NCC. The programme was moderated by Goldee Bora, Assistant Professor, Department of Fashion Technology, Assam Women’s University and coordinator of NCC of the university.
