Assam: Office Of Kamrup (M) DC To Be Moved To Rupnagar

Along with the office of the Deputy Commissioner, the office of the Commissioner of Police will be moved to Khanapara.

Guwahati: The current office of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) in Kachari will be moved to Rupnagar. The site of the new office in Rupnagar was inspected by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday. 

Commenting on the upcoming office, the Assam CM said, "A 5-storey building will be constructed at Rupnagar as the DC office will now be shifted here. 10 new DC offices will be constructed in the state in 10 bighas of land. The construction will be completed in 3 years."

In regard to the budget of the new project, Assam CM Sarma said the total cost cannot be estimated at the moment. He added that the new office building will come with adequate infrastructure and parking spaces.

A new beautification project of the Brahmaputra will come up on the current site of the DC office after the office building is demolished.

In addition to the DC office, the office of the Commissioner of Police will also be moved to Khanapara.

In other news, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa announced that the young employees of Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd (HPCL) would be given jobs by the State Government as per qualification.

While talking to the press, he said, "Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and Pijush Hazarika held talks with the employees of Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd (HPCL) on Monday and even I have had talked to them 3-4 times. We have told them that the arrear that is due to them will be paid by the State Government."
