DOOMDOOMA: One Raju Tati, a mason of Line 6, Daimukhia Tea Estate, was electrocuted while another worker Mintu Tati, was critically injured while working at the construction site of a house on Monday.

According to reports, the two workers were hit by an 11KV transmission line while working at the construction site of a house belonging to Uttam Mukherjee in Vijay Nagar locality of Rupaisiding. They were immediately rushed to the nearby Dr D.C. Borah’s Nursing Home by the local people but from there Raju Tati was rushed to Tinsukia Civil Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The victims’ families have lodged a complaint with the Doomdooma Police Station and the Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) demanded an investigation into the incident . ATTSA also demanded compensation to the next of the kin of the deceased and for injured worker Mintu Tannti.
